Does this shoe run true to size?

Is it waterproof?

No. Water can damage the cork and dissolve the glue and sealant, so don't soak it. If it gets wet, dry it slowly away from direct heat, never in front of a heater.

How do I clean it?

Birkenstock says to remove surface dust from suede with a wire suede brush and protect it with its Footbed and Shoe Protector, applied with the applicator brush. Don't soak it or machine wash it.

How do I keep it from smelling?

Air the footbeds regularly. Birkenstock says that prevents odors from building up with moisture.

What is it made of?

The upper is suede. The insole is suede. The footbed is cork-latex. The outsole is EVA.

What support does it offer?

The contoured Birkenstock footbed supports your arch and heel and shapes to your foot the more you wear it.

Can it be repaired when the sole wears?

Birkenstock says soles should be repaired or replaced before wear reaches the cork. Ask us in store about repair options.
